You may find it more useful to employ a template to print your envelopes and in that regard you may find https://www.gmayor.com/Envelope_Label_Add_In.htm  or https://www.gmayor.com/Simple_Envelope.htm useful.

    Hi chet martin1,

Thank you for the detailed update. I understand how frustrating it must be to encounter this envelope printing issue, especially after years of it working reliably. I appreciate you confirming that the problem began after the recent Office update that introduced Copilot.

Based on your feedback, here’s what we’ve gathered:

    • You’re using Mailings > Envelopes > Print
    • The envelope prints correctly, but a blank page is ejected afterward
    • You’re using an Epson WF 4833 with manual feed
    • Office 365 is fully updated
    • No custom templates, macros, or add-ins are in use
    • You've already tried the “Add to Document” method, but the issue persists

I recommend some steps you could try

    1. Print to PDF First (as a test)
Try printing the envelope to PDF instead of directly to the printer.
      • If the PDF shows only the envelope without a blank page, the issue may be related to how Word communicates with the printer driver.
    2. Adjust Printer Driver Settings
      • Open Printer Properties and ensure:
        • Envelope size is correctly selected
        • Feed method is set to manual or envelope tray
        • Duplex printing is disabled
        • Paper source is explicitly set to the envelope tray
    3. Create a Custom Envelope Template
      • Open a blank Word document
      • Set the page size to match your envelope manually
      • Insert address fields and save the layout as a reusable template
This bypasses the envelope wizard and may prevent the blank page from being triggered.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m here to assist further.

    4. Only have one that has a hand feed (Epson WF 4833)
    5. My office 365 is up to date
    6. No
    7. Tried Add Document And file – Print (ejected page)
    8. This problem started after office update when copilot was added, no problem before. Been working for 3 years +

    Hi chet martin1,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Thank you for reaching out. I understand you're experiencing an issue where printing an envelope in Word (Office version 2506 Build 16.0) forces the creation of a new document and ejects a blank page, even when following standard instructions.

To help us better understand and investigate this issue, could you please provide the following details:

    1. What steps are you using to print the envelope? (Mailings > Envelopes > Print, or using a saved template)
    2. Does the blank page eject before or after the envelope prints?
    3. Are you using a custom envelope size or layout?
    4. Is this happening with all printers or just a specific one?
    5. Have you tested this on another device or with a different Office build?
    6. Are any macros, add-ins, or custom templates enabled in Word?

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:

    • Use the “Add to Document” Option First
Instead of clicking “Print” directly from the Envelopes dialog, click “Add to Document”. This inserts the envelope layout into a new document. Then go to File > Print and select the envelope tray or manual feed. This may help avoid the blank page issue.
    • Check Printer Settings
Ensure your printer is configured to handle envelope media correctly. Select the correct envelope size, set the feed method to manual or envelope tray, and disable duplex printing if enabled.
    • Use a Custom Envelope Template
Create a Word template with the envelope layout manually configured. Save it for reuse to bypass the default envelope wizard.
***Note: Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.***

Your detailed response will help us diagnose and investigate the issue more efficiently.
If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

    Thank you for your cooperation.
    Best regards,
