    Dear Funch Foard

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you have encountered issues related to the legality of the Office you purchased, and I understand your concerns and confusion.

Based on your description, considering the price and the prompt information after installation, we need to make it clear that this product is not an officially authorized product of Microsoft.

Please allow me to explain the situation in detail:

1-> Price anomaly warning: The official price of Office Home 2024 is $149.99, and the gap of $16 between it and the official price is too large.

2-> Lack of dealer qualifications: This is a third-party sales platform, and Microsoft has not authorized it at present.

3-> Security risk confirmation: Microsoft's genuine installation package has built-in digital signature authentication, and the malware alert you encountered proves that the file has been illegally tampered with.

We fully understand your anxiety at this time. To ensure your digital security, we recommend that you take the following measures immediately:

    • Delete the installation package to avoid affecting the computer environment.
    • Contact the seller to obtain a refund to avoid financial loss.
    • Submit a report on this sales channel: How To Tell - Counterfeit Software Report

To help you resume normal work as soon as possible, we recommend that you purchase products on the Microsoft official website. Official channels can ensure that you obtain genuine products and can get the latest feature push and updates in a timely manner.

Thank you for your attention to Microsoft. Microsoft always puts user safety first. Your report will help us make continuous improvements and build a safer digital environment for every user.

    Best Regards,

Tracy - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

$16 for Microsoft Office can't be legit when the actual price is about 8 times of that.

    Hi Tracey,

"Get Software Deals Ltd is listed on the Microsoft website as a "Partner":

    https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-gb/marketplace/partner-dir/312aaedd-7ec0-40d2-96e4-dfb66d1e5b8b/overview

As well as the company's website proclaiming as much:

    https://getsoftwaredeals.com/authorized-reseller/

However if they are genuine there appears to be something wrong with their system as the Cart/Checkout elements of their website are not working.

If they are not genuine I suggest Microsoft does a better job of due diligence of its "Partners".

    All the Best

    Steve
