Project 2021 Perpetual License

I recently purchased a product key for Microsoft project professional 2021.

This product key was purchased through a third party seller (I know I shouldn't be doing this).

Now I didn't have any issues redeeming the product key and installing project or activating it on first startup, but its not clear to me why it hasn't been added to my personal Microsoft account

I've confirmed that the license is a retail version (Office21ProjectPro2021MSDNR_Retail1 edition) through using the following command prompt lines recommended by microsoft.

cd c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\

cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

So I'm unsure why this wasn't added to my Microsoft account. I have an old 2016 student edition of word/excel/powerpoint that i purchased years ago from a retail store and that got added to my account years ago automatically so i don't get why the same isn't happening here.

Looking for some help on this so in the future when i need to reinstall project i don't have to go through the redemption process again.

    Hello Jimmy,

    Thank you for your prompt response, yes you can still use your license for your Project 2021 however I would like to set proper expectations that since this license is an MSDN license, you may not receive proper support in terms of the help and how to's. So long as you still have the license, you won't have any issues with activation as well so just keep the product key safe and you should be good to go.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I understand that you need confirmation with your purchase of Project 2021 license. To answer your question why your license for Project 2021 not being reflected on your Microsoft Account it's due to the nature of your license, since you have stated that you have purchased this license from a 3rd party shop and indicated that this license is an MSDN license then by design, it will not be associated directly to your Microsoft Account because these type of licenses (MSDN) are intended for Developers.

    To avoid conflicts in the near future then I would highly suggest keeping the Product key safe, as it is the only proof for the purchase of your License

    I was curious about the what the MSDN prefix meant but I couldn't find any other info online since I was searching for MSDNR instead. Guess I was using the wrong search term.

    Is there any risk that my installation of project could become unusable if the key was deactivated by Microsoft? I can accept not being able to re-install it again on another PC, but I would like to know if I could still remain using my current installation if something like that happened.
