    Hi Mohd Kaif3,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. I’m truly sorry to hear that you're seeing a “Product Activation Failed” message in Excel. I understand how disruptive this can be, especially when you rely on Excel for your daily tasks. I appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help you resolve this issue.

To better understand your situation and provide the most accurate guidance, could you please help me with a few additional details?

    1. Are you using Windows? What is your operating system version?
    2. Is this happening on a personal account, work account or school account?
    3. What version of Excel are you using? (e.g., Excel for Microsoft 365, Excel 2021)
    4. Are you using Microsoft 365 subscription, or a standalone Office product?
    5. Are other Office apps (like Word or PowerPoint) showing the same activation issue?
    6. Have you recently changed your Microsoft account password, or switched accounts?
    7. Have you tried going to File > Account in Excel to check the activation status or sign-in options?

Once I have this information, I’ll do my best to guide you through the next steps. In some cases, reactivating the product or verifying the account can resolve the issue quickly.

Thank you again for your time and for being part of the Microsoft Community. I’m here to support you every step of the way.

    Warm regards,

Sophie N – MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

    Hi Mohd Kaif3,

Thank you for sharing these details about your activation issue. While my primary role is to support Microsoft 365 for business and education accounts, I understand how frustrating this activation problem must be for you, and I'll do my best to provide helpful information that may resolve your situation.

I can see you're experiencing activation failures with Excel 2010, Word, and PowerPoint on your Windows 11 system under a personal account, and that checking the activation status through File > Account didn't resolve the issue. Let me share some general troubleshooting steps that may help in your case.

Since you’re using a standalone Office 2010 version (not a Microsoft 365 subscription), here are the most effective solutions:

    1. Re-enter Your Product Key

Office 2010 requires manual activation with a valid product key:

    1. Open any Office app (e.g., Word) > go to File > Account.
    2. Under Product Information, select Change Product Key.
    3. Enter your 25-character key (found in your purchase email or retail card).
    4. Follow the prompts to complete activation.

    2. Run the Microsoft Activation Troubleshooter

Download and run the official Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) to automatically diagnose and fix activation issues.

    3. Repair Office Installation

    1. Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter.
    2. Locate Microsoft Office 2010 > select Change > Repair > Continue.
    3. Restart your PC after completion.

    5. Manual Activation via Phone

    If online activation fails:

    1. In any Office app, go to File > Account > Activate Product.
    2. Select Phone Activation and follow the instructions.
    • Microsoft has **stopped providing updates and technical support for Office 2010,**meaning it no longer receives security updates or technical assistance from Microsoft. For optimal security and features so continuing to use this version may pose security and compatibility risks. For optimal security and features, consider upgrading to Microsoft 365 - Subscription for Productivity Apps | Microsoft 365

I truly hope you understand that the initial steps I suggested may not have completely resolved the issue, as there might still be underlying causes, we haven't uncovered yet. Please know that I’m here with you every step of the way, ready to work together and do everything I can to help troubleshoot and find the best solution.

If you encounter any issues during this process, please share the specific error messages or behaviors you’re seeing, and I’d be happy to assist further.

Thank you for your patience, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need clarification or additional support.

If the information above is helpful, kindly mark it as an answer by clicking "yes". This will also assist others in the community who may have similar questions complexity.

    Best regards,
