Word says my document is open but I can't see it (Word for Mac)

Hi,

I double-click the file "Manuscript Draft" and see the attached image. However, when I click on the application, the document is not there. I also have no open windows on my Mac where the document is. I thought the document might be hidden, but there's no option to unclick or click the hidden button under Properties.

When I click the word app, there's a black dot in front of the name like this: "• Manuscript Draft".

The application can be hidden but not individual document windows. Most likely the document window is Minimized.

If so there should be an icon at the right end of the Dock which you can click to restore the window or go to the Window menu in Word & select the document by name. Other options are to just click the Word icon in the Dock or right-click it & select the document by name or select Show All Windows.
