    Hello Chanel,

    Thank you for your update.

Unfortunately, PowerPoint for the Web does not support exporting to MP4 video format. The web version is designed for lightweight editing and collaboration. It lacks advanced features like recording slide show, saving as video or embedding audio/video from device directly.

There are two ways you can make save PowerPoint as an mp4:

    1. Use screen recording: You can play your slides in full screen and press Cmd+Shift+5 to open macOS recording tool > record entire screen > press Cmd+Ctrl+Esc to finish recording > this video will save as a .mov and you can convert it to .mp4
    2. Use PowerPoint desktop version: Download the file from the PowerPoint web and open it in the PowerPoint desktop app. Go to Slide show > record slide show, you can also modify timings, audio and narrations for each slide. They are not saved as separate files until you export the presentation as a video. Then go to File > Export > choose file format as mp4 and remember to toggle on the "Use recorded timings and narrations"

If you need any support, please feel free to reach out to us. We're happy to support you with any concern.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Chanel,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. We're happy to support you.

We’d like to collect a bit more information to help figure out about your concern. Could you please help by checking or providing the following? We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

    • What version of PowerPoint are you using?
      (Microsoft 365, PowerPoint 2021, PowerPoint 2019, etc.)
    • Are you using the desktop PowerPoint app or the web version (PowerPoint Online)?
    • Do you want to record narration for each slide separately, or record the full slideshow as a continuous video?
    • Have you tried using the “Record Slide Show” feature under the Slide Show tab? Did it work as expected?
    • After recording, are you seeing the option to export or save as MP4 under File > Export? If not, what options are available?
    • Do you need specific settings for the video export (resolution, timing per slide, etc.)?
    • Do you need the video to include slide transitions, animations, or embedded media (like audio/video clips)?

Please understand that we need to collect this information to narrow down the situation and provide the most accurate solution to your problem.

We appreciate your time and look forward to resolving this for you.

    Best Regards,
