Hello, Zhanzhao!

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I am here to support you today!

About your query, PowerPoint 16.16.27 is part of Office 2016 for Mac, which had limited support for exporting to MP4. Full MP4 export support became more reliable in Office 2019 for Mac and Microsoft 365 versions.

Here are some steps that you can try to see if it works:

  • Use Export to Video:
    • Go to File > Export > Create a Video.
    • Choose video quality and timing options.
    • In the “Save as type” dropdown, look for MPEG-4 Video (.mp4) or Windows Media Video (.wmv).
    • If MP4 is missing, it’s likely due to version limitations.
Turn your presentation into a video
  • Check for Updates: Upgrade to a newer version of PowerPoint (e.g., Microsoft 365 or PowerPoint 2019 for Mac). These versions support MP4 export natively.

    Hi, Alina,

A bit busy these days. Yes, your suggestion is really useful. I followed the second item, upgrade to the new version of Microsoft 365, and there is an MP4 type to choose and save the video. And the video quality is high. Now it works, thank you very much for your suggestions.

    Have a nice weekend.
