Office Professional Plus 2021

I have Office Professional Plus 2021 I'm trying to activate it on a new Windows 11 install.

I have the product and enter it in and instead of asking for my password it it goes to the next screen telling me its going to send a code. I hit the send code button and it goes to the next page to enter the code, but I don't receive a code.

I have disabled my antivirus, I don't have a VPN running. I have been able to get a code to log into Outlook.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi Similoluwa, Professional Plus versions of Office are part of Apps for Enterprise and are volume based and not to be sold on the internet as retail versions. And Microsoft made it clear in 2020 that users: may not use the service/software if you have not validly acquired a license from Microsoft or its licensed distributors.

    Office 2020 update: https://support.office.com/legal?llcc=en-us&aid=Office_Mac_Use_Terms_2018_en-us.htm

Enterprise Customers: If you are an Enterprise customer, the below terms do not apply to you, and your use of the subscription service/software is subject to the terms and conditions of the volume license agreement you agreed to when you signed up for the subscription and by which you acquired the license for the software. You may not use the service/software if you have not validly acquired a license from Microsoft or its licensed distributors. If your organization is a Microsoft customer, it has enabled you to use certain connected services in Microsoft 365. You may also have access to other connected services from Microsoft, which are covered by separate terms and privacy commitments. Hello,

    Thanks for your response

It appears that the license is not currently linked to your Microsoft account (MSA), which is why you're unable to sign in and activate Office.

To resolve this, please follow these steps:

    1. Uninstall the current Office installation from your computer.
    2. Go to office.com/setup.
    3. Sign in with your Microsoft account and follow the on-screen prompts to reinstall and activate Office.

If you encounter any errors during the process, kindly take a screenshot of the error message and send it to us so we can assist you further.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

     Best wishes,

    Similoluwa | Microsoft Community Support

Hi, Professional Plus versions of Office are from Microsoft Apps Enterprise and are volume based. The last version of Office Professional Plus was the 2019 version. The next version was Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021. There never was a legitimate Office Professional Plus 2021. These versions were/are sold on the internet in contravention of the Microsoft licence. Window 11 appears to be weeding out these versions when user upgrade to Windows 11.

    Hello,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community.

I understand that you're having trouble activating Office Professional Plus 2021, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Let's work through this together.

To better assist you, we need to clarify a few things:

    • Are you trying to activate Office using a product key or by signing in with your Microsoft account?
    • If you're being prompted to enter a verification code but not receiving it, please ensure that two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on your Microsoft account. You can check this by signing in here and reviewing your security settings.
    • To help you activate Office successfully, could you let us know how you got your Office Pro Plus 2021? For example, did you buy it directly from Microsoft, a retail store? This helps us determine the right activation method for your version of Office.

    Best wishes,

    Similoluwa | Microsoft Community Support
