Office 2016 disappeared upon installing Windows 11

I cannot find Office 2016 (Office Home & Student 2016) in Apps after installing Windows 11 on my computer (upgraded from Window 10 to 11). I can still use Word, Excel or Powerpoint program, but when the program starts, "Office 365" is shown. However, there is no Office 365 in Apps, except the language settings such as "Mocrosoft 365 en-us".

According to the Office product information, I must be still using Office 2016. Where can I find Office 2016 on my computer?

The main problem is, after all these happened, I cannot see the contents of some old Powerpoint files, which I could do before installing Windows 11. I can open the file, but then the message "Powerpoint Not Responding" appears, as soon as I try to move to another slide. These files behave normally when uploaded into Google Drive und opened there online.

On your Microsoft account online on the link I provided, do you see your Office 2016 licence listed there and if so, is there no install or downnload button available?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you see Microsoft 365 en-us in the list of installed apps, that means the subscription based Microsoft 365 version of Office is installed on your PC, if your licence is for Office Home and Student 2016, then you need to uninstall Microsoft 365 en-us.

Then, go to your Microsoft account online on the link below to download and Install Office Home and Student 2016.

If the Office 2016 licence is not appearing on your Microsoft account, are you sure that is the account that was used to purchase/activate that version of Office 2016, because it should be automatically associated to the Microsoft account.

No, I cannot. I have 2 licenses for Office 2016: one for Windows, another for Mac. The one that appears in the list of my account is only the one for Mac, which I haven't used for ages.

Thank you, DaveM121, for your advice.

After all, it seems that I am using Office 2016, though its layout has changed very much.

Upon installing Windows 11, Microsoft Copilot was installed without my knowledge. I guess that’s why Microsoft 365 de-de, en-us, ja-jp appeared in the list of installed Apps, which were not there before.

If possible, I would like to reinstall Office 2016 on my PC, as you suggested, but it seems not possible. I see none of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016, Excel, Word or PowerPoint in the list of installed Apps, so I cannot uninstall them. I need to uninstall them first before the reinstallation, to download Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 using my license from Microsoft. My account on Microsoft does not show the possibility to download Office 2016 using my license. (Is it because the license is in use?)

It's very frustrating that Microsoft changed Office settings without my permission. I uninstalled Microsoft Copilot, but it didn’t solve the problem that I cannot see some old PPTX files.
