Footer from one word document does not paste properly into another word document

I am in the process of updating the footer of many different word documents with a new footer which includes a text and two pictures on each side of the text. I was able to paste the source footer to most of the documents perfectly with no issues (pasting with 'keep source formatting'), however, when pasting the footer to the rest of the documents it didn't go well and the left picture got either deleted or hidden after pasting with keep source formatting.

For reference the first picture on the left should align with the body text, however after pasting the footer, the text was aligned with the body text and no picture on its left side.

I tried aligning the size of the documents, size of text, the margins, but it would still paste in the same way as before without the left picture. Any idea where the problem is?

Off-topic to your problem, I think. This may also be a workaround.

Consider rather than copying and pasting...

Save your footer as a Footer Building Block.

Then, to insert in another document use Insert > Footer and choose your custom footer.

Which are the exact steps you are following as you paste the footer content?

For example, are you pasting footer content into an active (open) footer in the target document?

    Hi F. Trampa

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

From your description, it seems that the left image in your footer is either disappearing or not displaying correctly when using the "Keep Source Formatting" paste option. This can sometimes happen due to section breaks or formatting inconsistencies between documents.

To help resolve this, I recommend trying the steps outlined in the following Microsoft Support article, which explains how to delete section breaks that may be interfering with your footer formatting: Delete a section break - Microsoft Support

Please follow the instructions in the article to remove any unnecessary section breaks in the destination documents before pasting the footer again. This may help ensure that the entire footer, including both images and the text, is preserved correctly.

If you continue to experience issues after following the steps, could you kindly resend the screenshot or image so I can better understand the issue?  I will be happy to assist you further.

    Best regards,
