I'm getting a SMS from 2 differnt SMS numbers. "Use verification code ###### for Microsoft authentication." My Microsoft account doesn't have my number. I noticed no unusual activity on my account.

The SMS numbers are 2**** & 8****. Are these Microsoft numbers? How can I report this activities?

    Hello Theresa,

Thank you for posting this issue on community forum. Phone number removed for security and privacy reasons in accordance with Microsoft Policy.Microsoft uses official numbers for authentication, but if your account doesn’t have your phone number linked, you shouldn’t be receiving verification codes. It’s possible these messages are phishing attempts, or someone mistakenly entered your number. To check if the SMS is legitimate, visit Microsoft’s official authentication guide and Microsoft Entra ID authentication details. If you suspect fraud, report it at Microsoft’s security page.Hope this helps!Sincerely,Walter White | Microsoft Community Moderator
