    Hi FRANCIS QUINN VELASCO,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Support.

If you're working with Excel on Windows and need to enable or run macros, please try to follow the steps below:

Step 1: Show the Developer Tab (if not already visible)

    • Open Excel.
    • Go to File > Options > Customize Ribbon.
    • In the right pane, under Main Tabs, check the box for Developer.
    • Click OK.

Step 2: Enable Macros for a File

When you open a workbook that contains macros:

    • If you see a yellow Security Warning bar, click Enable Content.
    • Alternatively, go to File > Info, then click Enable Content > Enable All Content.

Note: If the file was downloaded or received externally, right-click it in File Explorer > Properties, and check Unblock before opening.

Step 3: Change Macro Settings (if needed)

    • Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
    • Select Macro Settings.
    • Choose one of the following:
      • Disable all macros with notification (recommended default)
      • Enable all macros (only in trusted environments)
    • Click OK.

If these options are greyed out, they may be managed by your IT administrator.

    Step 4: Run a Macro

    • Go to the Developer tab.
    • Click Macros.
    • Select the macro you want to run.
    • Click Run.

You can also press Alt + F8 to open the macro list directly.

I hope this helps you get started with macros in Excel. If you encounter any issues or need help with macro permissions in a managed education environment, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to assist further.

    Best Regards,

Ben-V - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.
