Drop Shadows on exported PDF are pixellated

Regardless of what settings I use for PDF export, the drop shadows look awful. In Word they look fine, but on the PDF they don't. First image is how they look in the PDF, second is in word.

    The converter in Word is not capable of creating high quality PDF images. You have to use a different program to convert your Word documents to PDF. You can try using Adobe's on line Word to PDF converter,

    But if that doesn't give you the results you're looking for, then you will need to use Adobe Pro or another program. Some are free.

    Are you using Word 365 desktop or an earlier version of Word; and how are you creating the PDF? Are you saving it as PDF, printing it as PDF file, or using a Adobe plugin?

    The image quality produced by Word's PDF converter may be satisfactory for your work, but others have reported that the quality is not acceptable. Perhaps the drop shadow is worse, so it is more noticeable. Have you tried using another converter to see if there is a difference? I doubt you will be able to achieve any better quality for the drop shadow using Word's converter than what you already have.

    Another alternative is you can share both the word document and the PDF using OneDrive or Dropbox, and I can take a closer look at them. Just be sure to remove any personal or sensitive information.

    It is capable. The image is high quality but the drop shadow isn't.
