How do I get microsoft to work on my computer without purchasing a subscription. I purachsed a "microsoft office home 1 PC/Mac 2024" from costco. I redeemed the passkey and it is still telling me i need to pay for a 365 subscription. I do not want a 365 subscription and i bought this to have WORD AND EXCEL AND POWERPOINT ON MY COMPUTER. I need this fixed as soon as possible. I just want these apps i do not need nor do i want a subscription. Every time i try to go to reinstall or "manage" the apps it takes me right back to the subscription page.

Thanks for the update, Maddi. Based on your screenshot, it looks like your Office Home 2024 license isn’t linked to this Microsoft account only an old Microsoft 365 subscription is showing.

    Please try this:

    Go to https://setup.office.com.

Sign in with the same Microsoft account you used before.

Enter your product key again to link it properly.

Once it’s linked, go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and click Install Office from there.

If it still doesn’t appear, try checking any other Microsoft accounts you may have used when redeeming the key. Let me know what happens after that.

    Best,

    Arlene D.

Hi Maddie, you need to uninstall the trial version of Microsoft 366 subscription version. Uninstall Office from a PC - Microsoft Support Use the uninstall tool.

This is what it shows on my account when I go to that page. When i click the "resubscribe button that it is showing it just shows me two options (personal and family) for microsoft 365 subscriptions. There is nothing about an option for my office home that i redeemed. I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling the apps anyway to see if this makes a difference.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I'm Arlene an Independent Advisor.

Can you please check if your Office license shows up under account.microsoft.com/services when you sign in with the same Microsoft account you used to redeem the key?

If it does, uninstall all existing Office apps from your computer first (especially any Microsoft 365 trial), then go back to that same page to reinstall Office. This ensures you're installing the version you purchased, not a subscription trial.

Let me know if you're still getting the subscription prompt after that.

    Regards,

    Arlene D.
