Onedrive (web) only shows one picture. Unable to go to next/previous. Incorrectly displays "1/1".

This is in a folder with dozens of images, but when clicking one photo to open it, it is impossible to go to the next and previous one. 1/1 is incorrect. I can't get this to work now in any folder, not my own or other people's shared files. It started yesterday, and it is the same thing in different browsers (Edge/Chrome/Brave) and on other people's PCs.

We first saw this problem on June 30th.

Finally - I have been searching for weeks for evidence that ANYONE else on the planet has been having this same issue. Worked fine for YEARS with no issues, now, suddenly, not so much. I'll add Mozilla Firefox to the list of browsers that this is happening with. Strangely enough, it seems to be intermittent with Edge - sometimes it's fine, sometimes it gives the same "1/1" in a folder with many photos . . . and sometimes I get a different viewer that pops up and seems to overlay the webpage that allows scrolling through images.

Not sure wth is going on, but the most depressing thing you can hear from a Microsoft Agent is "report this directly to Microsoft through the Help & Feedback center. Best wishes".
Awesome. You may as well send an email to Santa Claus.

I reported it using the Send Feedback function, and I encourage anyone facing the same issue to do the same. I worry this "Send Feedback" button does not do much unless a large number of people report the same problem.

We use mostly the Onedrive web app to watch shared photo folders from others, and don't want to sync everybody's files everywhere locally to the PCs. However, right now it is very tedious to do so as you can only watch one photo at a time.

    Hi,
Thanks for getting back to us.

Since you've confirmed the issue persists across multiple PCs, browsers, and Microsoft accounts, and began around June 30, this appears to be a broader issue with the OneDrive web image viewer.

At this point, I recommend the following:

Use the OneDrive desktop app or Photos app as a temporary workaround

Download the OneDrive sync client (if not already installed) and open the folder locally to view and navigate images.
Alternatively, use the Windows Photos app to browse synced images.

Report the issue directly to Microsoft

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of OneDrive web > Help & Feedback > Send Feedback.
Include a brief description and mention that it started around June 30 and affects all folders and accounts.

    Best wishes,

    Peter | Microsoft Community Support

I tried all of these, and there is no change. It's also a problem with every PC and Microsoft account in my family.

We mostly use Edge with Windows 11, but also some Chrome. Everything is updated.

Prior to June 30th this worked fine. We haven't changed anything on our end.

    Hi,
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community.

I'm sorry to hear you're unable to navigate between images in OneDrive on the web. I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when it affects all folders and browsers.

This issue may be caused by a temporary bug in the OneDrive web viewer or a problem with how the image viewer is loading folder metadata.

To troubleshoot this, please try the following steps:

    1. Clear browser cache and cookies

    >> Open your browser settings and clear cached images/files and cookies.
    >> Restart the browser and sign in to OneDrive.com again.
    >> Try opening an image from a folder with multiple pictures.

    2. Check if the issue occurs in InPrivate/Incognito mode

    >> Open a new InPrivate/Incognito window in your browser.
    >> Sign in to OneDrive and try viewing images again.
    >> This helps rule out browser extensions or cached scripts.

    3. Disable browser extensions

    >> Temporarily disable all extensions, especially ad blockers or privacy tools.
    >> Refresh OneDrive and test image navigation again.

    4. Try a different Microsoft account (if available)

    >> Sign in to OneDrive with another Microsoft account.

    >> Check if the issue persists when viewing images in that account.
This helps determine if the issue is account-specific.

Let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and I’ll be happy to assist further if needed.

    Best wishes,

    Peter | Microsoft Community Support
