How do I continuously sync my desktop and files from Laptop to PC?

I have been using and HP laptop with Microsoft Windows on it as my primary computer for about 4 years now. I recently got a new PC with Microsoft Windows on it and would like everything on my laptop to be on my PC. I would also like to be able to go back and forth between both with up to date files and documents on either. For example if I create and save a file on my PC I would like it to show up on my laptop and vise versa. Additionally, is there anyway some of the settings I have been using on my laptop can transfer as well. I also think it is worth mentioning that l do have a Microsoft account but have virtually nothing saved to OneDrive. I believe I tried to uninstall it from my laptop at one point and don't know if it still around.

Sorry for the late response. I downloaded outlook on both computers and transferred all of my files into it. So far it seems to be working fine. All of the files put into outlook appear on the PC. I haven't transitioned to exclusively using the PC because it has been having Wi-Fi adapter issue but once I do, and am able to use it more often I will update you if there are any issues. Thank you again for your help.

    Hi Evan Stabler,

Thank you for Posting in Microsoft Community

To continuously sync your desktop and files between your laptop and PC, you can use OneDrive, which is a cloud storage service provided by Microsoft. Here's how you can set it up:

    1. Install OneDrive on both your laptop and PC if it's not already installed. You can download it from the Microsoft website.
    2. Sign in to OneDrive using your Microsoft account on both devices.
    3. Choose the folders you want to sync between your devices. You can do this during the setup process or by going into the OneDrive settings and selecting the folders you want to sync.
    4. Any files you add, edit, or delete in the synced folders will be automatically updated on both devices.

As for transferring settings between your devices, OneDrive primarily syncs files and folders, not settings. However, some settings may be synced if they are tied to your Microsoft account, such as certain Windows settings and preferences.

Since you mentioned you have virtually nothing saved to OneDrive, it's a good idea to start using it for syncing your files between devices. If you uninstalled OneDrive from your laptop before, you can reinstall it and sign in with your Microsoft account to start syncing your files.

Let me know how it goes,

    Best Regards,
