How do I update a Table of Tables in a Table of Contents?

I'm working on a years-old existing document and it has a Table of Tables. I have added tables and the Table of Tables won't update. (Yes, I have used the insert table feature). I can only add a table of contents, Table of Figures, or Table of Authorities. How do I update/add a Table of Tables? Thanks!

How was the table of tables created? It can only be updated if it is a field. You can press Alt+F9 (or Alt+Fn+F9 on some keyboards) and see if the table of tables displays as a TOC field.

    How to Add?

On References tab, insert a Table of Figures and change what you are looking for to Tables.

    Insert a Table of Figures

This assumes you have used the Caption feature to add captions to your Tables with the Table label.
