I am unable to use my debit or credit card to purchase Microsoft 365 subscription.

I have been here for over 3 hours. It's TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to contact Microsoft.

I have now tried over 20 times to add a payment method. I have tried with 4 different cards and numerous times. I know that all the cards I tried are good and working,

All give an error, screenshots are available.

What to do.

I will respond as best I can here.

My card was accepted several days ago. I already mentioned it here previously.

It's a different error message now 'Contact seller to activate this code'. But I do not have any code. And which seller ?.

I was manually entering all the data.

I tried 4 different cards and all working ok elsewhere.

This is to do with Microsoft 365, not office. Office is installed and working.

I think we can call this a failure, nothing really lost as I was trying to activate MS 365 so MS has lost a sale.

Many thanks for all the help.

    Cheers,

    Tony.

It depends on your local working hours.

Thank you for getting back with me on this.

Let's do it this way, open a private window, (ingonito) in Firefox, let's try this browser first, and don't worry it won't affect your saved data. Then go to this link: https://account.microsoft.com/services. Sign-in and look for the free Microsoft 365 subscription offer linked to your device, click to activate, when you're being propmt for payment information, check if there is an option for to select either " Skip" or "Maybe later", click on that.

Update me if you were able to activate it or not.

Many thanks Ms. Aileen, very much appreciated.

To be a little more specific.

I am not actually trying to purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription. I have a free 1 year that came with a new computer I recently purchased.

The computer (Win11) keeps bugging me to active this subscription. So I finally got around to trying to activate and it takes me to the page where I have to give payment details.

I am originally from the UK and living a long time in Indonesia.

I have tried both UK and Indonesian based cards, none work.

The MS account details show me as residing in Indonesia which is correct. If I try to change this to the UK I get a page that just says 'denied, too many attempts' when in fact I had not made any previous attempts.

Also I am repeatable asked to login to my MS account but the login page says I am already logged in and the email address is correct (stated below where I am meant to login).

I am using Firefox but clearing the browser cache is a last resort as I will lose many things I have built up over the years.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to contact Microsoft. The nearest I got was an 800 number in the USA and 800 numbers are blocked from here.

I will try to include a couple of screenshots here.

    Best regards,

    Tony.

Hello and thanks for getting in touch. I'm Aileen, and I'm here to provide you advice as an Independent Advisor.

You're trying to purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription, but none of your debit or credit cards are being accepted, even after 20+ attempts and using 4 valid cards. I know how frustrating that can be, especially when there's no clear reason for the failure.

Let’s go step by step to help you fix it:

Clear browser cache and try again in private/incognito mode.

Sometimes cached data can block payment screens.

Open your browser in Incognito/Private mode and go to:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

    Try purchasing again from there.

Also, double-check your billing region and currency.

    Go to: https://account.microsoft.com/profile

Make sure your Country/Region and Payment method country match.

For example, a card issued in a different region won’t always work if your profile is set to another country.

Let me know after these steps and I’ll guide you through the next set if the issue persists.
