A web-based tool in Microsoft 365 that enables users to quickly create surveys, quizzes, polls, and feedback forms.
Hello.
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
In Microsoft Forms, adding a text field for participants to specify an answer when selecting "Other (please specify)" is a common request. While Forms doesn't currently support conditional logic to automatically display a text box linked directly to the "Other" option, there is a simple workaround:
You can manually add an additional short answer question directly below your multiple-choice question and label it something like:
"If you selected 'Other', please specify here:".
Then, in the multiple-choice question, include "Other (please specify)" as the last option.
Although the text box won't dynamically appear only when selecting that option, this method helps you collect the extra input you need. You can also make the text field optional to avoid requiring it from users who choose a predefined answer.
Hope this helps clarifying things.
Best Regards,
Daniel C.
