I lost access to my Cognizant MFA because I accidentally cleared the storage of my Microsoft Authenticator app. As a result, I am unable to complete the MFA verification and cannot log in to the portal

In my case I raised a ticket and after two days they have provided a mail id and asked me to share my problem with that person.I mailed them regarding this issue and he solved it by resetting the MFA .

If they are not responding to your mail I request you to send them a follow-up mail during the office hours.

    Dear Aruneesh,

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the details of the issue you're facing. I understand how important it is to regain access, especially when it affects your ability to log in and continue your work.

Based on your description, it sounds like your authentication profile was removed from the app, which is why you're no longer able to complete the multi-factor authentication (MFA) process.

As a member of the community support team, I’m limited in my ability to access or make changes within your administrator account. For security and privacy reasons, only Microsoft’s dedicated support team has the necessary tools and authorization to assist with account-level issues such as resetting or troubleshooting deep within your account.

That said, here are a few recommended steps you can take to get direct help from Microsoft:

That said, here are a few recommended steps you can take to get direct help from Microsoft:

    1. Are you able to access the Microsoft Security Info page?
Please try logging in at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
If successful, you can reset your multi-factor authentication (MFA) method or add a new one.

For guidance, please refer to: Reset your work or school password using security info - Microsoft Support

    1. Are you the only administrator in your organization (tenant)?

    • If yes, and you cannot access the security info page, you will need to submit an account recovery request or contact Microsoft support directly by phone.

In this case, you need to submit an account recovery form request or directly contact the phone support for help.

    1. You can find more information and submit a recovery request here: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support
    2. Submit your request via the account recovery form. Recover account

I truly hope you understand that the initial steps I suggested may not have completely resolved the issue, as there might still be underlying causes, we haven't uncovered yet. Please know that I’m here with you every step of the way, ready to work together and do everything I can to help troubleshoot and find the best solution.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes or if you need any further assistance. If the solution I suggested doesn't work on your machine, just let me know — I’ll be here to check and provide more options.

If the information above is helpful, kindly mark it as an answer. This will also assist others in the community who may have similar questions about MFA file complexity.

    Best regards,
