    Helo David Cleaver,

If your computer connects to a Bluetooth audio device, but the device isn’t showing up in your volume settings (or isn’t playing sound), here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

    1. Reconnect the Bluetooth Device • Remove the Device: Go to Bluetooth settings, remove the device (“Forget” or “Remove device”). • Restart Both Devices: Restart your computer and the Bluetooth audio device. • Pair Again: Reconnect and pair the device as new.
    2. Set the Bluetooth Device as Default • Open Sound Settings: • Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar. • Select “Sound settings” (or “Open Sound settings”). • Select Playback Device: • In the “Output” section, choose your Bluetooth device as the main output. • If the device doesn’t show, refresh or try reconnecting. • Check “Disabled” Devices: • Click on “More sound settings.” • In Playback tab, right-click and make sure “Show Disabled Devices” is enabled. • If the Bluetooth device appears disabled, enable it.
    3. Update Bluetooth and Audio Drivers • Device Manager: • Open Device Manager. • Find “Bluetooth” and “Sound, video and game controllers.” • Right-click each device and select “Update driver.” • Windows Update: Make sure your system is up-to-date.
    4. Check for Audio Conflicts • If you have multiple audio outputs plugged in, unplug other headphones, speakers, or audio cables, and try again. • Some Bluetooth headsets can only connect to one device at a time—make sure it’s not paired to your phone or another computer concurrently.
    5. Run Windows Troubleshooter • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. • Run the troubleshooter for “Bluetooth” and “Playing Audio.”
    6. Restart Windows Audio Services • Press Win + R and type services.msc. • Locate and restart these services: • “Windows Audio” • “Bluetooth Support Service”
    7. Additional Checks • Make sure the Bluetooth device has enough charge or fresh batteries. • Test it on another device (like your phone) to rule out hardware issues.

If you’ve tried all the steps above and your Bluetooth audio device still doesn’t appear or won’t play sound, there may be a hardware issue with the device or a deeper software conflict on your PC. Reaching out to device support or considering a Windows system restore may help as a last resort.

    Best Regards,

    Jerald Felix
