Hello Jayla Flournoy!
If your camera still isn’t working even though all permissions are turned on, I know how annoying that can be. Let’s walk through a few checks and fixes you can try:
• First, even though permissions look right, double-check in your Windows Settings: go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera. Make sure “Camera access” for the whole device is on, “Let apps access your camera” is on, and (if you use apps that aren’t from the Microsoft Store) “Allow desktop apps to access your camera” is also on.
• Next, sometimes the camera itself has a physical switch or a keyboard shortcut (like Fn + a specific key) to turn it on or off. See if your device has a tiny slider or a light near the camera lens.
• Try restarting your computer, as another app or process may have “locked” the camera in the background. If you’ve recently used another program for video calls or photos, fully close those apps.
• Open the Camera app that comes with Windows to see if the camera works there. If it doesn’t, there might be an issue with the camera driver. Go to Device Manager, find your camera under the “Cameras” section, right-click, and try “Update driver.”
• If you use antivirus or security software, double-check that it isn’t blocking camera access.
• Finally, check for Windows updates in Settings > Windows Update, and install anything pending.
If none of these steps work, sometimes a simple driver uninstall and reinstall will do the trick. It’s frustrating, but working through these one by one usually solves it. If you need help with any step, just ask!
Best Regards,
