On previous versions of Word, I would double click on the document, word would open and display the document. Now I have to open Word from the start menu and find the document using the open function. A little more time consuming because not all of the documents I work on are in the same folder. Is there a way to make so I can just double click the document again?

    I went to Settings>Apps>Installed apps>Microsoft 365>More Options>Modify>Repair>Quick repair. That fixed the issue.

    Hi Greg,

I’m Cherrelyn, and I'm here to help.

t sounds like a file association or installation glitch. A quick solution that has worked for others is running a Quick Repair on Microsoft 365 just go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft 365 > More options > Modify > Quick Repair. After that, double-clicking should open your documents normally again.

I hope this will help and if you have any question please don't hesitate to reply to this thread.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn
