Switch Primary User of this Laptop

I am trying to switch the account my Lenovo laptop is signing into. I have it signing into this Gmail Microsoft account. I would like to switch the primary user of this laptop to cksupon25@gmail. When I go into my Microsoft account to add an alias, I enter that email into add existing email, and it says it is already taken. How do I switch the primary user of this laptop?

    Hello,

    Switching primary MSA requires to switch to local account and then back to new MSA.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Accounts > Your info
    2. Click the link Sign in with a Local Account instead
    3. Enter your information

    Sign in then do this:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Accounts > Your info
    2. Click the link Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead
    3. Enter your information

    Your email address is changed now.

    Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    It looks like you're changing the Primary Alias of your Microsoft account instead of changing the Primary user account on the laptop itself.

    To change the Primary User of the laptop,

    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
    • Select 'Sign in with your Local account instead'. (set username and password)

    • Sign out and sign in with your Local account on the device.
    • Once you're in the local account, go to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
    • Then, select 'Sign in with your Microsoft account'.
    • Enter the Microsoft email account you would like to use as the primary user of the laptop.
    • Sign out and sign in with your account.
