Can't figure out what to type to get the bing rewards category "Gaming Time" to work. The description says "Search on Bing for your video game to learn more about it".

I've tried several searches for multiple games and its not working. I tried on a few different browsers on both a PC and cell phone.

Any tips?

I'm having the same problem. It's not doing this to everyone. I've tried searches that other people have said work and nothing. I have tried multiple combinations and also using different devices. Even tried clearing cache and search history annnndddd nothing. Getting really frustrated with getting points these days. Throttled for no reason and now this. This is how Microsoft treats its loyal users of 20+ years, pathetic.

I've searched everything from Fortnite to my normally less mainstream favorites, seems to be a glitch and hopefully it doesn't kill anyone's point flow

Can someone from support supply a reasonable answer that solves this issue?

Obviously the clowns who code these "activities" occasionally like to make things "interesting" by tinkering with the search terms that qualify. Often it's a play on words -- like when finding yummies nearby required actually searching for "yummies" before they changed it to needing to search for one of a few specific fast food franchise restaurants. It's one of the more annoying things that Microsoft does.

Of course, occasionally the morons doing the coding simply make a mistake and there really isn't any way to get credit for an activity.

So far, the consensus seems to be that the activity is just broken, no one is claiming to have found any search that works.

It looks like Microsoft is trying to see how many are doing actual search in order to gain points. It will definitely increase traffic on their search engine by putting this type of bug once a while. That's what they want. It is not a bug it is a feature.

typical microsoft. Hire stupid people that don't understand that you should actually test your code before you declare it complete. This is why they are going to fail as a company because they do not listen to customers and they do not test their work.

Same issue. I've tried 20 different games from different genres, both modern and retro but still no luck. I even tried wording it in a way that sounds similar to the task. Such as Pac-Man trivia, Pac-Man facts, I want to learn more about Pac-Man but nothing....

I just get the hour glass, hopefully someone will solve this. And I tried both my pc and my android phone, all of nothing.

I'm guessing this was one that was meant for another day, so it's not triggering. This happens from time to time. (I've had it happen on the currency conversion one; it was meant for a Sunday but was opened on Tuesday or Wednesday and would not properly work for the whole week.

Regardless of the reason, c'mon Microsoft! Also not giving me points for my searches with the "cool down" reasoning is seriously stupid and petty. Don't let the Rewards program die a slow death. If you're going to kill it, just do it already.

well.. on the bright side I got about 60 points searching for different video games lol

I earned 3 points trying to do the game search. Later I saw my total was 30 less than earlier

Same problem here and it seems that I have not found A solution yet maybe just ignore it for now maybe it will get fixed later automatically who knows

I was finally able to get the points by searching Mario Kart.

Mario Kart just worked for me this morning. Thank you for posting. I still am getting cut off at different totals daily for my 150 points for searching. Why are they doing that? They took the fun out of all of it.

i think i found out how to complete the gaming time bing reward, you have to type "next adventure" and it completed for me idk about others tho.

After a lot of different tries, "tell me about the fortnite video game" seemed to work. Just searching for the name of a video game didn't work for me.

They might have just fixed this. I searched using "video game music composition" just now and got my points.

I think they realized it was not working. I went to read a regular news article, pop up showed saying I just earned 10 points for completing activity. Checked rewards page and it showed Gaming completed.

Yesterday's Gaming has corrected, and so has today's Adventure. Everything looks accurate.

It's working today -- using the same search that didn't work yesterday. I think it really was broke yesterday, but I doubt Microsoft will actually admit that they had to fix it.

Two different moderators had a fit because I dared to call the people who do the coding of the Microsoft Rewards activities "clowns" which apparently violates Microsoft's policy that we must only say good things about the company and its employees.

If the coders don't want to be called clowns they shouldn't be spending their work time creating jokes to pull on the users because they think it is funny to frustrate the users.

I just got it to work by searching "Sea of Thieves wiki."

For today's adventure I just typed in "Directions from (my city) to (another city) and it worked.

I tried just looking up "Gaming time" today and it worked for me

I just Search P and got the reward.....

I have found a working search: "search and play fortnite"

I got it working by following these steps.

1: Click the 'Complete >' link on the 'Gaming Time' card on the MS Rewards page. This will take you to the Bing search landing page.
2: Search for 'Sea of Thieves'
3: Click the top result which should be for the official seaofthieves.com page.
4: Return to the MS Rewards page and your 'Gaming Time' task should now be marked as complete.

I typed "Top Video Games" and it worked.

I have made it work by searching "popular video games" Idk if it works for everyone though. So no game franchise or titles, just this simple thing made it finally work for me, hope it helps.

I've tried dozens of variations, even asked the Ai to word a search for me; nothing seems to work.

Everyone should just get the 10 point bonus.

MS should have responded to this issue since it has been reported by multiple people.

Finally, this worked for me.

"Call of Duty" just worked for me.

Tried a bunch of games yesterday, including specifically Microsoft games, (Halo 3, Psychonauts 2, Gears of War), and eventually game up. Tried "Call of Duty" today and it worked, so either that was the magic word, or they fixed it overnight.

This was what got it solved for me as well.

The bing mobile app works for sure this is the only way I have found for sure that works and fairly easy to just tap on it in the app and select one of the drop down options given not all drop options work directly but one will for sure hope this will help wish they would have left it alone this is a bit more of a hassel.
