screen keeps going black after a random amount of time. stopped for like a week after trying a couple fixes I've found online but they seem temporary, as its started again, or it stopped for some other unknown reason but its persisted it seems.

    Hi

If the info above and my search results are accurate - then you triggered the 1b8 log entry....

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/bug-check-0x1b8--video-miniport-black-screen-livedump

"The VIDEO_MINIPORT_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP live dump has a value of 0x000001B8. It indicates that a user initiated MINIPORT live dump for black screen scenarios has occurred."

    As for the 141 code

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/bug-check-0x141---video-engine-timeout-detected

"The VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED live dump has a value of 0x00000141. This indicates that one of the display engines failed to respond in timely fashion."

This MAY be related to the video card or its drivers - I would start there. It may be the cause of the black screen or 'frozen' screen.

If you are overclocking your GPU or (anything else) then revert to standard settngs.

    reseat you GPU,

    Remove and re-install GPU drivers

Run any diagnostic tests from BIOS and GPU manufacturer.

    See how you go.
