Suggestion to Windows design team, if any:

  1. do recover the options for taskbar position, e.g., up.
  2. do recover the option of transparency (0-100%) for taskbar. I have no idea why these choices are removed from win 10, if correct. just do the users a favor, recover the above functiosn.

    Du Yuan,

Yeah, I agree. You can’t change the taskbar’s transparency here like you could in Windows 10.

I suggest you drop your feedback in the Feedback Hub app. There’s a chance the developers will see it and maybe include more customization options in future Windows updates.

    Best regards,

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Unfortunately, when compared to Windows 10, Windows 11's taskbar has minimal customization options.

The "ability to move the taskbar to the top and sides of the screen on Windows 11" is already a requested feature by many users and has received numerous upvotes. Here's the reference: https://aka.ms/AAd2jme

You can upvote and leave comments to help bring back the feature that was available in Windows 10.

Regarding the transparency effects on Windows 11, you can only turn the effect on or off, you cannot customize it between 0-100%.

You can enable it in Settings > Personalization > Colors > Transparency effects.

To submit your feedback, click Windows + F to launch Feedback Hub and select the 'Suggest a feature' option.
