A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Since you have Microsoft 365, the simplest approach would be to leverage OneDrive
On your old PC:
- Make sure OneDrive is installed (it usually is with Windows 10/11).
- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Move all the files you want to transfer into your OneDrive folder.
- You can organize them in folders like Documents, Pictures, Desktop, etc.
- Wait for the files to sync fully (check the cloud icon in the taskbar).
On your new PC:
- Sign in to OneDrive with the same Microsoft account.
- All your files will automatically start syncing to the new PC.
- You can choose to keep files online only or download them for offline use.
Alternatively, you can use Direct Transfer via External Drive (USB, HDD, SSD) if you prefer not using the cloud or have very large files:
- Connect a USB drive, external HDD, or SSD to your old PC.
- Copy all your important folders (Documents, Pictures, Desktop, Downloads, etc.) onto the drive.
- Connect the drive to the new PC and copy files over.
- Reinstall software as needed.
Another option is to use Windows “PC Migration” tools. Windows has built-in tools or third-party apps like Windows Easy Transfer alternatives, PCmover, or Zinstall for full migrations (including programs). These are handy if you want to copy installed programs along with files.
