Problem with Outlook on Surface Pro Laptop

Just got my new computer, MS Surfacw Oro Laptop, and I am finding that Outlook standalone is 'flaky'. Biggest issue if=s that most recent emails do not show. For example, today is 16 Aug and the most recent email showing in the Outlook mailbox is Aug 12. No problem on my old machine or on my Smartphone. Is this a known issue or am I still in a learning curve? Any advice?

It appears that you are experiencing a known issue with the new Outlook experience on your Surface Pro Laptop, where there is a possibility of recent messages (e.g., messages from August 13 and forward) are canickle being in your Inbox. This behavior is frequently associated with the new Outlook for Windows, which operates on a web-based architecture and has different synchronization and caching rules than classic Outlook. As a reminder, the new Outlook defaults to synchronizing only a limited selection of time (for example, 30 days or less) and the new Outlook uses a different .OST file for offline cache and storage. Another factor to consider is this causes consistent errors when viewing or retrieving emails and they may look delayed or appear to be missing altogether, unless the email sync settings have been changed.

If you want to see your recent messages, and retrieve the new messages or "lost" emails back into your inbox it is likely you will have to follow a few instructional steps. First, open Outlook, go to: Settings > General > Offline, and then make sure the "Days of email to save" is set to a longer period like "1 year" or "All time." Please ensure to restart Outlook to allow sync to continue, it may take a few minutes depending on your internet connection and volume of emails being processed.
