How to set the PrintScrn key to take a screenshot of the whole screen and save it as a .png file in the Screenshots folder – with a filename in the form of

“Screenshot 2025-08-25 161843.png” ?????

Using the Windows key + the PrintScrn key procedure does exactly what I want but the file saved has the form of

“Screenshot [54].png” !!!! ( the [54] being an incremental number )

How can I set the system for Win + PrintScrn to save a useful filename containing date and time?

The Win + Prt Scr keyboard shortcut is hardcoded into Windows, there is no method, setting or registry hack avaialble to get that shortcut to add a Date/Time stamp to the file name.

The nearest you will get in Windows is to use Win + Shift + S, then drag a full screen rectangle to take the screenshot, that will automatically save the screenshot with a Time/Date stamp.
