Hi Shokhislom**,**
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m really sorry to hear about the water spill on your Surface’s touchpad. That kind of accident can be stressful, especially when everything else seems fine but one-part stops working.
Let’s go through a few things that might help __
Power Off and Let It Dry__
If you haven’t already, turn off the device completely.
Leave it in a dry, well-ventilated area for 24–48 hours.
Avoid using heat sources like hair dryers they can cause more harm than good.
Use an External Mouse
Try connecting a USB or Bluetooth mouse to see if the rest of the system is working fine.
Check Device Manager
Press Win + X > Device Manager
Expand Mice and other pointing devices
Look for your touchpad. If it’s missing or has a warning icon:
Right-click > Uninstall device
Restart your Surface and see if it reinstalls automatically
If the touchpad still isn’t responding, it’s possible the spill caused hardware damage. In that case, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support:
https://support.microsoft.com/surface
Choose Surface > Hardware issue > Touchpad not working
You’ll be guided through checking your warranty and repair options
If your device is under warranty, they’ll let you know what’s covered. If not, they’ll offer service options based on your location.
We’re here to help and really appreciate your patience while we work through this together.
