    Hi Rajesh,

Did you manage to fix this issue? I have the same issue on my Lenovo Yoga aura slim 7i. I agree that its unlikely to be a hardware issue. There are many reports online of people with the same issue.

I have followed every piece of troubleshooting I've found in the links above. Nothing has worked. As you'll read in the links, some people have sent their laptop to lenovo for repairs and even when the keyboard was replaced, the issue returned. I presume its a windows driver issue.

One thing I found interesting is what's seen in the first link. When I followed what they did - pressing both shift keys at the same time and then pressing C or X, I saw the same thing - it changed the volume or caps lock respectively. This demonstrates its definitely not a hardware issue with the keyboard.

dear dave, gracious of you to have taken out time to guide me. unfortunately, none of these worked. in this note, there are no capital letters - just to depict shift key is still not working. could have used caps lock which still works - but wanted to demonstrate. my hunch is that it isn't anything related to h/w as all other keys work. as u have guessed, some corrupt device driver... thanks again

    1

Open the Settings app, then go to Accessibility - Keyboard

Ensure Filter Keys, Sticky Keys and Toggle Keys are all disabled.

    2

If that does not resolve the problem:

Open Command Prompt, then run this command and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic

Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.

    3

If that does not resolve this for you

    Open Device Manager

    Expand the Keyboards section

Right click your keyboard and choose 'Uninstall'

    Then restart your PC
