First, please confirm that the folders containing your files are actually included in the indexing scope. You can check this by going to Settings > Search > Searching Windows > Advanced Search Indexer Settings, then clicking Modify to review which locations are indexed.
Next, open Indexing Options and verify the status. If it says “Indexing complete” but still yields no results, try rebuilding the index entirely: go to Advanced > Rebuild. This process may take some time depending on the number of files.
Also, ensure that the Windows Search service is running. You can check this by typing services.msc in the Run dialog and confirming that Windows Search is set to “Running” and “Automatic.”
If you're searching for file contents (not just names), make sure the file types are configured for content indexing. In Advanced Options, under File Types, confirm that relevant extensions (e.g., .docx, .pdf, .txt) are set to “Index Properties and File Contents.”
Lastly, if you're using a third-party antivirus or endpoint protection, it may be interfering with indexing. Temporarily disabling it can help rule that out.
