Windows Is Telling Me It Cannot Find an EXE File That I Am Trying to Run?

I recently got a new PC that came with Windows 11 Installed. I got all my Steam files set up and started installing my games. Everything seemed fine, but when I go to run the executable for one of my games, from a fresh install, Windows says it cannot find the file and to make sure I typed it correctly. This is despite the fact that I am clicking on the executable it claims it cannot find. I have tried verifying the game files multiple times, as well as reinstalling the entire game over again, but the problem still persists.

Hi! Alyx. Thanks for the details and for bringing this up, I'm here to help.

    Recommended First Steps for You

Go to the actual install folder, confirm the .exe is there, and run it directly.

Check if it works when running as administrator.

If still broken, run it via Command Prompt to see if it complains about missing DLLs.

See if this helps. If you need further assistance, just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly
