The issue of my computer running slowly after the latest Windows update has now been successfully resolved. After experiencing noticeable lag, delayed program launches, and overall sluggish performance, I began troubleshooting by checking the Task Manager, where I found several background processes consuming high system resources. I disabled unnecessary startup programs and updated all outdated drivers, especially the graphics and chipset drivers, which seemed to be affected by the update. Additionally, I performed a disk cleanup to remove temporary and leftover update files, ran a malware scan to rule out any security issues, and adjusted the system's performance settings for optimal efficiency. These steps collectively resolved the performance problems, and my computer is now running smoothly and efficiently once again.
Why is my computer running slow after the latest Windows update?
Why is my computer running slow after the latest Windows update? I’ve noticed a significant drop in performance since installing the update—programs take longer to open, the system lags, and even simple tasks feel sluggish. I'm not sure what's causing this, and it's starting to affect my productivity. Could it be due to background processes, incompatible drivers, or something else introduced by the update? I’ve tried restarting a few times, but the problem persists. Are there any specific steps I should take to troubleshoot this issue? Should I check Task Manager, update drivers, or consider rolling back the update? I’d appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this and get my computer running smoothly again.

This will disable all non-Microsoft startup apps and services, helping isolate whether the issue is being caused by something running in the background.
Try this:
- Press
Windows + R, typemsconfig, press Enter. - In the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab, and click Open Task Manager.
- In Task Manager’s Startup tab, disable everything.
- Close Task Manager, click OK in the System Configuration window.
- Restart the PC.
What this does: It prevents all third-party services and apps from starting, so you can test system performance under minimal load.
If performance improves significantly, something in your startup is the problem. From there, re-enable services and apps one at a time to isolate the culprit.
