Hello, thanks for reaching out. If you are signing in with a work or school account, Microsoft supports QR code sign-in through Microsoft Entra ID. When you choose Sign in with QR code on the login screen, a code will appear.
You then open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, use the built-in scanner in the app to scan the code, and enter your PIN. This completes the sign-in process. The scanner is not a separate tool on your computer, it is part of the Authenticator app on your mobile device.
