A Microsoft desktop and app virtualization service that runs on Azure. Previously known as Windows Virtual Desktop.
Hi Navnath Zanzad,
Thank you for reaching out Q/A regarding the AVD.
As of now, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) does not natively support Linux as a session host operating system. AVD currently supports only Windows-based session hosts, including Windows 10/11 Enterprise multi-session and Windows Server editions.
At this time, Microsoft has not provided an official timeline or roadmap for the introduction of native Linux session host support within AVD. We recommend keep an eye on the official documentation and feedback channels for any future updates on this feature.
