It has been several times now i have had a failed install of this update, i have tried windows update troubleshooter and that scanned but was the same outcome with failed to install, then when i shut down my pc it said "updates are underway" but it is stuck and nothing is proceeding, i don't know what is going on with this update, but i have hear other people have had the same issues with this update, windows 11 25h2 is soon coming out on windows update but they said i need to have the latest cumulative update, so any other solutions to fix this please?

    Hi, good day!

Are you getting any windows update errors?

Please let me know if you have tried the methods below.

    • Disable or uninstall any third-party VPN and Antivirus program to prevent it from interfering with the update.
    • Make sure Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer services are available and running.

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: services.msc

Press Enter to open Services app

    Double-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service.

If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK. If the status is Running, right click then select Restart

    Double-click Windows Update.

If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK. If the status is Running, right click then select Restart

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.

    I do have the same issue, the update keeps at 0% and not moving at all. There's no problem with my Windows Update and there might be some other thing which caused the problem since 25H2 is just a recent release. When I searched and found there are 2 different matters;

    • 2025-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5065426)(26200.6584)
    • 2025-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11, version 25H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5065426)(26200.6584)

I'm glad if here's any .MSU which I can do manual updates (the above listed KB is not listed in Windows Catalogue).

    Thanks alot !

If the issue persists, open Settings > System > Recovery.

Few things to check on the PC

    • Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
    • Disable or uninstall any third-party Antivirus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

Under Fix problems using Windows Update, click Reinstall Now

Once completed, your system will restart.
