Clipchamp taking lots of storage, how would I fix this?

Recently my laptop notified me that I'm running out of storage. Today I looked at the OS:C drive, and it says 30GB left out of 455GB. I then looked at my system storage summary and it says that a lot of space is taken up by installed apps (I already sorted through all other options), so I went to the Installed Apps section and sorted by size. I was expecting a lot of 3GB or so applications, but suddenly Clipchamp popped up on the top of the list with a whopping 147GB of storage taken. I thought Clipchamp was quite small when I installed it, and I have been using since the start of 2023. How do I reduce the amount of space taken up by Clipchamp as I need space for work/study?

    Hi Nathan Yew,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. I'm happy to help.

You may try to check Clipchamp data space and clear Clipchamp data, please follow this guide bellow:

    1. Click Start and open Settings, this will open Settings window
    2. On the list on the left, click to Apps, then choose Installed apps
    3. You will find Microsoft Clipchamp section, click on Three Dots Button on the end of that line, then choose Advanced options
    4. From there you will see its Specifications
    5. Scroll down and press on Reset button
    6. After resetting Clipchamp, scroll up to check Specifications again to see the Data is wiped successfully

Please try performing a System Restore at an earlier date where everything is still working.

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: rstrui.exe

Press Enter. This will open System Restore

    Click the Next button.

Select the restore point at an earlier date where everything is still working.

    Click Next then Finish

    Hi, good day!

I recommend checking and deleting for any unused projects.

    Open Clipchamp > Projects

Please try delete any old or unused projects to remove the associated media and temporary files.

Press Windows key+R to open Run then copy and paste the path below

    %localappdata%\Packages\Clipchamp.Clipchamp_yxz26nhyzhsrt\LocalCache

Look inside this folder for huge media files or folders and delete them only if you are certain they are no longer required.

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed.
