Why am I unable to open links on Facebook

I have an HP AIO and because it was doing odd things, like having two do 2/3/4 clicks on the mouse to open anything, clicking on Comments of an article/post and the entire article opens, etc.

So, I did a factory reset of Win 11. Some things changed and some didn't. Right now, the biggest thing that frustrates me most is links on some posts won't open (see atch). When I click click on it, it starts to open then stops and shows a rotating donut. Never had a problem before the reset. Screenshot 2025-09-22 081610

Any ideas why this is happening?

I am having other problems but will make new posts on them.

Thanks

    Dear Jack Anderson

Thanks for reaching out! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. I'm Haien from Microsoft Q&A.

Based on your description of the links starting to load and then getting stuck with a "rotating donut," and the fact that this started after a factory reset, the most likely cause is a misconfiguration or a corrupted web browser setting.

I've outlined some steps you can take to resolve this issue. Please try and keep me updated with anything news from it:

    • Settings > Apps > Default apps > Web browser > Ensure Edge (or preferred) is set > Test opening a link via right-click > Open with > Choose browser.
    • Open Edge and click on the three dots (...) in the top-right corner > Go to SettingsPrivacy, search, and services > Under "Clear browsing data," click Choose what to clear > Select  Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files > click Clear now.
    • In Edge, Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to default.
    • In Edge, edge://extensions/ > Toggle off all > Test links. If using third-party antivirus, pause real-time protection briefly.

Please keep me updated with anything new that you were try to each option.
