Dear Duaine,
Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding desktop backgrounds during a Windows 11 presentation. We understand how important personalization and visual clarity can be, especially when working across multiple monitors.
Windows 11 does support setting different background images for each monitor. However, this feature may not behave as expected during certain presentation modes—such as when using extended displays with screen mirroring, or when presenting via remote desktop or projection tools. In these cases, the system may default to a unified background to maintain consistency across the session.
To assign different images to each monitor, you can right-click on the desktop, select Personalize > Background, and then choose Picture. After selecting an image, right-click it and choose Set for monitor 1, monitor 2, etc. If this option isn’t available, it may be due to presentation mode limitations or display driver settings.
We recommend checking your display configuration and ensuring that your monitors are set to “Extend” rather than “Duplicate.”
Let me know how it goes, and if this answer helps, feel free to hit “Accept Answer” so others can benefit too 😊 T&B, Domic.
