Hello Mike, I am Henry and I want to help you with this issue.

You can fix this by follow these steps:

Step 1: Select the Correct Printer

The next time you print and the dialog box appears:

    1. Look for the "Printer" or "Destination" dropdown menu.
    2. Click on it to see a list of available devices.
    3. Instead of "Fax" (which is likely selected), choose the name of your actual printer (e.g., "HP LaserJet Pro," "Canon PIXMA," etc.).

The request for a fax number will disappear, and you can print your document.

Step 2: Set Your Printer as the Default

To avoid having to select your printer every time, let's set it as the default.

    1. Click the Start Menu and go to Settings.
    2. In the left-hand menu, select Bluetooth & devices.
    3. Click on Printers & scanners.
    4. Find your actual printer in the list and click on it.
    5. At the top of the next page, click the "Set as default" button.

Optional: If you never plan on using your Surface Pro to send faxes, you can remove the fax device from your list of printers to avoid any future confusion.

    1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    2. Click on the printer named "Fax".
    3. Click the "Remove" button at the top of the page. You may need to confirm by clicking "Yes".

Hope one of these works for you. If you find this guidance helpful, you're welcome to click 'Accept Answer'—it helps others find useful solutions too.
