Bing Wallpaper doesn't switch each day to the current wallpaper. It also switches wallpaper pictures to older ones several times a day while I'm working on my computer. It does this on two of my Microsoft systems. Can't get any answers from MS or Bing about this. The Bing setup screen doesn't help either. I have deleted Bing and re-installed with the same results. Using Windows 11 Home

    Hi,

It sounds like Bing Wallpaper is still glitching by swapping backgrounds more than once a day, which usually happens when the app gets confused between its cache and Windows’ own background settings. To keep it steady, make sure Windows is set to use a single picture (not slideshow or synced theme), then let Bing handle the daily change on its own. If it keeps happening, you can reset it again by clearing the Bing Wallpaper cache folder so it has no old images to cycle through. This helps the app stick to pulling only the current "Image of the Day."

    Regards,

    Hi,

That’s great news, I’m really glad you found the folder and gave it a clean slate. Fingers crossed it keeps pulling in the new wallpapers smoothly now.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

It sounds like Bing Wallpaper is getting stuck recycling old images instead of pulling in the daily one, which often happens if Windows background settings conflict or the app is just reading from its cache. Have you tried this, Make sure your Windows background is set to a single picture (not slideshow), then in Bing Wallpaper toggle the "change daily" option off and back on so it refreshes. If that doesn’t help, uninstall Bing Wallpaper, delete its leftover cache folder at C:\Users[YourName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\BingWallpaper, and reinstall it forces the app to pull fresh images instead of reusing old ones. This usually clears up the issue on Windows 11 systems.

    Kind regards,
