Hey folks—quick question from a teacher trying to demo apps in class. I’ve got an iPhone 15 on iOS 17 and a Windows 11 laptop on the same Wi-Fi. I’d love to mirror the phone screen (with audio) to the PC wirelessly so I can show students stuff in real time.

A few constraints:

  1. No jailbreak.
  2. Prefer Wi-Fi (USB is my backup if latency is awful).
  3. Need system + app audio if possible.
  4. Happy to pay for something reliable, but free is nice if it actually works.

I’ve tried random “AirPlay receiver” apps from Google results—some worked for 30 seconds then stuttered like crazy, others showed video but no audio. Before I burn more time: what’s actually working for you on Windows 11 right now? Any tips on settings (firewall, codecs, 5GHz Wi-Fi vs 2.4GHz), or apps I should avoid?

Thanks in advance!

Windows 11 just doesn’t speak AirPlay natively, so there’s no “switch it on” option. What worked for me was putting both my laptop and iPhone on the same 5 GHz Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz lagged like crazy), then using a lightweight AirPlay receiver app on the PC. After that, swipe down on the iPhone, hit Screen Mirroring, and it pops right up with audio.

Couple of traps I hit: the Windows firewall blocked it the first time until I allowed it, and some “free” apps out there cut you off after a minute or bombard you with ads. Stick with something simple and free, and you’ll be fine. Once you get it set, it’s totally possible to mirror iPhone to PC Windows 11 smoothly without the laggy mess you described. I’ve been using it for demos and casual streaming, and honestly it’s been solid.

So yeah—if your goal is just to mirror iPhone to PC Windows 11 with audio, keep both devices on 5 GHz Wi-Fi, don’t forget the firewall prompt, and avoid the sketchy apps that waste your time.

Honestly, I banged my head against this too. I thought I could just hit “Wireless Display” in Windows 11 and boom, mirror my iPhone… but nope. Windows only speaks Miracast, and iPhones only speak AirPlay—two completely different languages.

What I ended up doing the first time was a bit of a hack: I had a TV in the room that supported AirPlay, so I mirrored the iPhone to the TV, then ran HDMI from the TV into my laptop as a capture source. Clunky, but it worked without extra software. Another time, I just gave up on wireless and used a cable—recorded my iPhone screen separately and dropped the video onto the laptop. Not fancy, but free and reliable.

So yeah, if you’re hoping for a straight “mirror iPhone to PC Windows 11” button built into Windows, it’s just not there. Either you add a middleman (TV, Apple TV, or capture card) or go wired. Learned that the hard way.

Yeah, I’ve messed with this myself—no need to pay for anything. On my Windows 11 laptop, the only free tools that didn’t make me want to throw the USB stick across the room were LetsView and LonelyScreen (free version).

The setup is dead simple: install on PC, connect iPhone and laptop to the same Wi-Fi, then swipe down on the iPhone → Screen Mirroring → pick the app name. Screen + audio shows up right away.

Couple of things I learned the hard way:

Stick to 5 GHz Wi-Fi, otherwise the lag is unbearable.

Windows firewall might block it the first time—just allow access and it’s fine.

A lot of “free” AirPlay apps cut you off after a minute or plaster ads; skip those, they’re a waste of time.

So yeah, if you just want to mirror iPhone to PC Windows 11 without pulling out your wallet, LetsView’s the one that’s worked consistently for me.

    Hi,

I'm Sumit, here to assist with your question.

Apologies for any inconvenience - I'm happy to help you today.

The answer would have been pretty easy if iPhone supported Miracast. iPhone does not support Miracast. It only supports AirPlay for screen mirroring. Miracast works with Windows and Android devices, not iOS.

Some suggestions in this Reddit post:

AirServer also helps but it is a premium software:
