How to fix "we couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint"

hello, I recently set up my HP Elitebook 830 G7 Notebook PC and tried setting up the fingerprint lock.
I came across this mesage "we couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint" - i then checked to see if the driver was installed or not, i did not find one. do i install it myself? where would i get the download link for my specific device?

    Hello, Hope your Doing well Thanks for reaching out !

    Step 1: Download the Fingerprint Driver

    • Go to HP’s official support page: HP EliteBook 830 G7 Drivers
    • Scroll down to “Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices”
    • Download the Synaptics VFS7552 WBF Touch Fingerprint Driver (or the fingerprint driver listed for your model)

    Step 2: Install the Driver

    • Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions
    • Restart your laptop once installation is complete

    Step 3: Check Device Manager

    • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager
    • Expand Biometric Devices and confirm the fingerprint scanner is listed
    • If it’s missing, check under Keyboards or Input Devices

    Step 4: Set Up Windows Hello Fingerprint

    • Go to Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options
    • Under Fingerprint Recognition (Windows Hello), click Set up
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to register your fingerprint

    Step 5: Update BIOS and Windows (if needed)

    • On the same HP support page, download and install the latest BIOS update
    • Make sure your Windows is fully updated via Settings → Windows Update

    Optional: Check BIOS Settings

    • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS
    • Ensure the fingerprint scanner is enabled under Security or Advanced settings
