    Hi Liza,

Thank you for sharing your issue. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your new Surface Pro 7's touchscreen right out of the box, I am here to help.

This kind of thing can happen if drivers are old or missing, there could be some problems with the system software, or it could even be a hardware problem.

    Please follow these steps.

Run the surface diagnostic tool kit to check the issue. Here is the link https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nf1mr6c60zf?hl=en-US&gl=PH

If the touchscreen doesn't work there, it probably means there's a problem with the hardware, and you might need to get it fixed or replaced. If the touchscreen does work in that system, then it's probably a software issue, and we can try reinstalling drivers or updating the system software.

May I also ask have you already installed all the Windows and Surface updates? Also, do you see any errors in the Device Manager under Human Interface Devices, especially for the Intel Precise Touch Device or HID-compliant touch screen?

Let me know how it goes. I'm here to help you step by step so we can get your Surface working right.

    Best Regards,

    Noel
