    Hi Muskan Samariya,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

If your laptop is prompting for a battery replacement and you're unsure which battery model is installed, you can totally find it out without opening up the device. Here's how to generate a detailed battery report using a built-in Windows command:

    • Right-click Start logo > Click Terminal (Admin)
    • Type powercfg /batteryreport and press the Enter key
    • The report will be saved as a .html file in your user folder
    • Navigate following the path shown in Command Prompt
    • Open the file > Look for the Installed Batteries section for:
      • Battery name/model
      • Manufacturer
      • Design capacity
      • Full charge capacity

That is the most reliable way to identify the exact battery model installed. In addition, if you or the seller hasn't made any hardware changes, you can also use System Information by pressing Win + R keys > type msinfo32 > press Enter. Look for your System Model and search it on Microsoft’s official parts store for the original battery.
