Using GroupMe, I added 10 members and myself to group but no one’s receiving messages. No one besides myself besides has GroupMe app but that shouldn’t matter, right?

A feature that allows users in the U.S. to participate in GroupMe chats via standard text messages, without needing the app or internet access.

    Hi Andy Kwong,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I understand you’ve added 10 members and yourself to a GroupMe group, but no one else is receiving your messages.

GroupMe can send texts, but only in the U.S. And people need to sign up with their phone number and turn on SMS mode. Simply adding someone to the group isn't enough.

Your group members probably haven't signed up for GroupMe or turned on text messages. If they don't do that, they won't get texts from the app, even if they don't have the app. I suggest ask your members to either download the GroupMe app or sign up on the website and enable SMS messaging. Once that’s done, they should start receiving messages.

Are your group members in the U.S.? SMS only works for U.S. numbers right now, so that might be the issue.

Let me know how it goes. If you found this helpful, marking it as helpful might make it easier for others to find the solution. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Carlo
