Hi Carmela,
Logitech wireless mice typically connect using a USB receiver, and when they don’t respond on a new PC, it’s often due to one of the following:
The receiver isn’t being detected properly by Windows.
The mouse isn’t paired with the receiver (especially if it’s a Unifying receiver).
The drivers haven’t installed yet or were blocked during setup.
The USB port isn’t supplying power or is malfunctioning.
The mouse battery is low or dead.
These issues can occur silently, especially on a fresh setup where device recognition and driver installation are still catching up.
Here are a few steps that may help resolve the issue:
Try a Different USB Port:
Plug the receiver into a different USB port, preferably one directly on the PC, not through a hub.
Check Device Manager:
Press Windows + X and selected Device Manager.
Look under Mice and other pointing devices or Human Interface Devices.
If you see a yellow warning icon, right-click and choose Update driver or uninstall, then restart your PC.
Install Logitech Unifying Software (if applicable):
If your mouse uses a Unifying receiver (orange star logo), download the pairing tool from Logitech’s website.
Run the tool and follow the steps to pair your mouse.
Replace or Recharge the Battery:
If your mouse uses batteries, try replacing them. If it’s rechargeable, plug it in for a while and retry.
Test the Receiver on Another PC:
This helps confirm whether the issue is with the mouse or the new PC.
