- Make sure you're on Windows 10 version 22H2 with the latest cumulative updates (KB5046613 or newer).
- Open Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.
- If your device is eligible, you should find there the option to "Enroll now (Extended Security Updates)" .
- Click it, sign in with your Microsoft Account, and follow the prompts to purchase/activate ESU (about US$30 per year per PC). You might get a free option via syncing settings to your Microsoft account or other qualifying actions (depending on what Microsoft is offering at the moment).
- Once activated, Windows Update will continue delivering ESU security patches past October 14, 2025.
For Home edition, you do not manually enter/install ESU keys (that's for business/volume licensing). Activation happens entirely through the Windows Update enrollment wizard with your Microsoft Account.
